Founder and Managing Partner, Behavioral Health Partners
“If not me, then who?”
Adam Vibe Gunton builds, launches, and fills addiction treatment centers. He is the founder of Behavioral Health Partners, the founder of the nonprofit Recovered On Purpose, a bestselling author, a TEDx speaker, and a person in long-term recovery who was once the caller no treatment center would help.
Adam Vibe Gunton is the Founder and Managing Partner of Behavioral Health Partners, a Denver-based agency that builds, launches, and scales addiction treatment centers through licensing and accreditation consulting, feasibility studies and financial modeling, and behavioral health-only SEO, AI search optimization, paid media, and video. A founding member of Radix Recovery in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, which had one of the most successful treatment center launches in history, Adam has helped dozens of treatment centers open, grow, and scale. He is a person in long-term recovery since November 6, 2017, bestselling author of From Chains To Saved, TEDx speaker, and Founder and Executive Director of Recovered On Purpose, and has been featured on NBC News Daily, CBS News, and ABC News.
He did not learn this industry from a textbook or a marketing degree. He learned it on the floor, on the phone, being told no.
Adam's TEDx Talk makes the case that recovery stories, told out loud, are how the addiction crisis gets solved. Treatment programs across the country now use it in their programming.
Adam was an all-state athlete and the defensive captain of a state championship football team at Columbine High School. He was also hiding a drug habit he did not yet have a name for. It took him from that field to a near-fatal fentanyl overdose, pulled unresponsive from his car by police, and then to homelessness.
At 148 pounds, addicted, and sleeping on a floor, he sat with a flip phone and called every treatment center he could find. Every one of them said no. He did not have the insurance and he did not have the money.
On November 6, 2017, he got sober anyway. The 12 steps were the first thing he ever finished in his adult life that he had to work for. On day 26, the obsession to use lifted, and it has never come back. He will tell you that a spiritual awakening sat at the center of it, and then he will get back to work.
That is where the question came from. If the industry could not find room for him at 148 pounds on a floor, then who was going to build treatment that people can actually find and actually trust?
He answered it by building. Behavioral Health Partners. Recovered On Purpose. Radix Recovery. Every center BHP has helped open since, and every family who called one of them and finally heard yes.
His question
If not me, then who is going to come into this industry with integrity, do what they say, and make it so people can find the treatment that will actually help them?
Adam does not consult on theory. Everything below exists, is linked, and can be verified.
A full-service agency that builds, launches, and scales addiction treatment centers across the United States and Canada. All we do is addiction treatment and behavioral health, and we take one client per level of care per market. Why would we give two people the best marketing?
The nonprofit Adam founded and leads as Executive Director. Recovered On Purpose helps people in recovery share their stories powerfully and reaches people still suffering with a message of hope, through recovery media, published recovery memoirs, and free tools like relapse prevention and 12 step worksheets.
Adam is a founding member of Radix Recovery in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, which had one of the most successful treatment center launches in history, and he serves as its Marketing Director. Radix Recovery is Joint Commission accredited, LegitScript Certified, and licensed by the State of Iowa.
Adam's bestselling memoir of addiction, homelessness, and the spiritual awakening that changed everything, published on his two-year sobriety date, November 6, 2019.
Adam sets the strategy on every engagement BHP takes. Before a partnership begins, he has already studied the center, the market, and every competitor in it, and he decides what gets built, in what order, and why it wins. Nothing ships under the BHP name that he has not approved.
Here is what he will tell you on the first call that most agencies will not. You can take almost any treatment center website in the country, swap the name and the photos, and drop it onto the center down the street. Nobody would notice. That is the industry standard, and it is why so many centers with good clinical programs sit half empty. Adam's job is to find what makes your center the one a family chooses at two in the morning, and then build every page, every campaign, and every video around that answer.
He builds the relationship himself. The first discovery call is with Adam, camera on. He is on the partnership that follows. Clients do not get handed to an account manager and a ticket queue. They get the founder, who knows their center, their market, and their goals, and who treats their growth like his own.
And he leads the team. BHP's specialists in SEO, paid media, creative, web, and consulting each run their craft at the highest level. Adam's job is to keep every one of them pointed at the same outcome: a center that opens strong, grows steadily, and helps more families find treatment. His standard, in his own words: nobody outworks me. It does not exist.
Adam says it in four words: I am your clientele. He has been the person on the floor calling treatment centers that would not help him. That is not a marketing angle. It is judgment you cannot buy, teach, or fake.
It shows up in the work every day. Adam knows what a frightened family actually types into Google at two in the morning, because he has been the person they were searching for. He knows the first thing they look for is whether you have what they need, and the second is whether they can trust you, and he builds every website, every page, and every campaign to answer both questions fast.
It also shows up in what BHP refuses to do. No gimmicks near care. No novelty creative selling treatment to a family in crisis. No marketing a center as something it is not, because when a center gets clear on who it is, the people who call are the right people for it, and the people who are not right find somewhere that fits them. A center that markets what it is not fills beds with the wrong people and empties them just as fast.
In his words
You cannot stop people in recovery from helping people in recovery. You just cannot.
Adam's story and his work have been documented by independent newsrooms, industry publications, and national platforms. Every feature below is real, linked, and verifiable, because that is the standard we hold for our clients' proof too.

The book is read by people in recovery, by families trying to understand a loved one's addiction, and by treatment professionals who want the real version of what the people they serve are living through.
Writing it did not end with his own story. Through Recovered On Purpose, Adam has helped publish dozens of recovery memoirs by other people in recovery, because every story that gets told reaches somebody who had to hear it.

Change The World.
Those are not wall words. They are the filter every partnership passes through, and they come with refusals we say out loud.
We refuse to take a client's money when we do not believe they can succeed. We refuse to sell what we cannot service. We refuse to market a center as something it is not. We refuse to grow chaos. We refuse to turn and burn vulnerable people. That is not what our marketing is for.
If you stand on what you believe, you get blessed. Period.

Adam's TEDx talk, Relapse Prevention Failed: And How WE Can Solve This Crisis Together, delivered at TEDxBillings, argues that the industry's traditional relapse prevention model has failed, and that community and lived-experience storytelling are what actually keep people sober. Treatment programs across the country now use it in their programming.
Adam was the person treatment centers are marketing to: addicted, homeless, calling every center he could find and being told no. He knows what a frightened family searches for and what a person in crisis needs to see before they trust a center, and he builds every BHP website and campaign to answer both before anything else.
Recovered On Purpose is the nonprofit Adam founded and leads as Executive Director. It helps people in recovery craft their stories into powerful messages, has helped dozens of people in recovery publish books, and reaches people still suffering through recovery media, memoirs, and free relapse prevention and 12 step worksheets, at times as many as 50 million people in a single month.
